Project Based Learning

When students are trusted to have agency over a project of their choosing it allows them to fully own the learning process.

Incorporating history, math, language arts, culture and science into real world, hands on problem solving embeds lessons more effectively than rote memorization.

Project based learning entails:

  • Forming a clear hypothesis/goal
  • Researching relevant history and techniques
  • Making sketches and models
  • Writing up and pitching a design proposal
  • Creating a detailed plan outlining materials, strategies and timeline.
  • Staging the tools, materials and workspace
  • Building and collaborating
  • Presenting the final result and process (including “failures” & successes)
